As Americans we have the freedom to choose any career we feel passionately about. Everyone at the Harris Funeral Home has chosen to be here because they share a passion for helping others at a time when that help is needed most. We believe that grief shared is grief diminished. We are here to provide help and comfort at what can be the most difficult time in the lives of the families we serve.

We take great pride in the high calling of our daily work. The Harris Funeral Home was established in 1980 by funeral director William G. Harris and is located on Cherry Lane in the Richland Township section of greater Johnstown, PA. The company acquired interest in the highly-respected Baker Funeral Home in nearby Conemaugh Boro, which then became the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel.
Services
Services
Report
It is estimated that a family in need of funeral services may have as many as one hundred eighty-seven individual decisions to make between their time of need and the funeral service. That can be a tremendous burden, especially if the need is unexpected. At Harris Funeral Homes, families will find care, compassion and professionalism.
Meet Our People
Report
William G. "Bill" Harris, the President and owner of Harris Funeral Homes, personally offers families over 45 years of experience and professionalism in the field of funeral management and planning. Receiving his Funeral Director License in 1972, Mr. Harris founded Harris Funeral Home in 1980 at 921 Scalp Ave.
Cremation
Report
Care of remains (bathing, dressing, and positioning of the body) to provide utmost dignity. Traditional cremation service (one Day Viewing and Funeral Service the next day either at the funeral home or church). Compassionate trained dogs available upon request for therapy for viewings (Compassionate dogs promote "pawsitivity" to grieving families).
Pet Care
Report
In the spring of 2016, Bill and Debbie Harris added onsite cremation care for both humans and pets at our Richland Funeral Home on Cherry Lane. While located at their funeral home in Richland, the services are offered to anyone who may need them. As pet lovers themselves, Bill and Debbie felt strongly about adding end of life services for pets to the funeral care services they have offered the area since 1980.
Grieving
Report
When a loved one dies, the grieving process is very emotional; recovering is slow and painful. Often, we don't know what to expect when we are faced with death and the consequences that arise. The grieving process can be less painful if you try to understand that loss and grief is a natural part of life.
