Chimney Inspection
Report
Part of the process of our chimney inspection is using a camera inspection using a professional chimney camera system. This allows the technician to see exactly what is happening with your chimney lining from top to bottom. This technology allows us to observe the areas that are not able to be seen easily from a visual inspection and look much deeper at the condition of your chimney.
Real Estate Chimney Inspection
Report
Typically, a standard home inspection does not include a complete chimney inspection but that doesn't mean you don't need one. The chimney could have excessive creosote, a highly flammable material. There may be cracks in the crown, a rusted chase cover, or a damaged flue liner. There may also be other chimney problems that could increase the risk of fire or carbon monoxide poisoning.
Because chimneys project above the roofline, they are exposed to more severe weather than any other part of your home. Moisture is one of your fireplace's worst enemies and can cause thousands of dollars in damage to the structure of your home if left unnoticed. Most masonry materials that chimneys are constructed of are porous and will absorb water, acting like a sponge.
