P2 means part two of fall semster. Eight-week classes are offered that can help you fill your schedule, catch up or get ahead on your education! The department of dental hygiene is committed to developing oral healthcare professionals who are capable of critically thinking, solving problems and making responsible decisions in order to be an effective co-therapist with the dental team.

Founded in 1967, Lakeland Community College was the first college in Ohio created by a vote of the people. True to our mission, Lakeland provides quality learning opportunities to meet the social and economic needs of the community. Offering day, evening, weekend and online classes, the college served 8,735 (unduplicated head count) credit students during the 2019-2020 academic year (Source: 2020-2021 IPEDS 12-Month Enrollment).
History

The history of Lakeland Community College has been one in which "community" has been the operative word. Conceived in 1964 by a group of 22 Lake County citizens, the college has grown considerably while serving the educational needs of over 250,000 people.

The goal of the college has remained constant: to offer a comprehensive two-year college transfer program, to provide technical and paraprofessional programs, to provide general education, and to provide professional educational counseling.In addition, Lakeland has responded to the needs of the community by offering numerous programs including specific industry-generated requests for a direct impact on Lake County and the surrounding area.

This system will be used to inform you of emergency situations via phone and email. The following guidelines will be in effect if an emergency requires the closing of any Lakeland site, including Lakeland's main campus and the Holden University Center.

50th Anniversary

Lakeland faculty, staff, administrators and students will give back to the community by participating in 50 volunteer community service projects throughout the year - one for every year of the college's existence. The intention is to complete projects of the size and scope that have a long-term or lasting impact on our community.
