Fine Tuned Performing Arts was founded in 2017 by Lyndsey Schaefer, an award-winning educator and performer with decades of experience in musical theatre and vocal instruction. Private Voice Lessons
Personalized voice instruction for students aged 10 through adulthood. Our lessons focus on classical technique through musical theatre and classical repertoire. Sessions are available in 30, 45, or 60-minute formats both in-person at our High Bridge location and virtually. Our award-winning instructors help students develop proper technique, expand vocal range, and build confidence in performance settings.
Summer Musical Theatre Intensive
An immersive 8-day program for students in grades 7-12+ at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge. The curriculum includes singing, dancing, acting classes, and masterclasses culminating in a musical theatre revue. Students receive personalized attention while developing performance skills in a professional environment. The program includes special opportunities for advanced students through our apprentice program.
Virtual Audition Coaching
Professional audition preparation through video review and live coaching sessions. Students receive expert feedback on their performance materials, helping them refine their presentation for school, community, or professional theatre auditions. Services include repertoire selection, staging suggestions, and technique adjustments to maximize audition success in both live and recorded formats.
Instrumental Music Instruction
Private lessons in guitar, bass, piano, violin, and viola for students of all skill levels. Our instructors combine classical training with practical performance experience to develop technical proficiency and musical understanding. Lessons focus on individual goals while building foundational skills applicable across musical genres and performance contexts.
Repertoire Building Consultation
Professional guidance for developing a diverse performance repertoire. Our consultants help students select appropriate material that showcases their strengths while expanding their artistic range. The service includes personalized song recommendations based on vocal type, performance goals, and audition requirements, with optional coaching sessions to develop selected material.

Award-winning teacher and performer with 20+ years of experience. Classically trained soprano who has performed regionally and on tour. Recipient of 'Best Actress in a Musical' and Grammy-nominated music educator. Specializes in vocal technique and audition preparation.
Steve Schaefer
Rock Band Program Director
Classically trained guitarist with international performance experience. Currently leads NJ's premier cover band and teaches instrumental music in Clinton Township. Awarded 'Teacher of the Year' in 2015. Specializes in guitar instruction and rock band coaching.

Choreographer & Assistant Director

My son attended the two week musical theatre camp last summer and had an amazing experience. I was so impressed by all of the students performances at the end of camp. It was incredible to see how much the kids had all been able to learn in terms of choreography, acting and music in such a short time. The songs that were picked for the individual students to sing demonstrated how well Lyndsey Schaefer knew the voices of each of her students and enabled each one to shine. My son's confidence in his acting grew. The pointers that he learned in terms of how to audition were so helpful and instrumental

We could not be more thrilled to be writing this review of Fine Tuned Performing Arts! It is an AMAZING camp led by Lyndsey Schaefer who is absolutely wonderful. This camp is for everyone from those kids who have never stepped foot on a stage, to those with experience in lead roles. Everyone is given an opportunity to excel regardless of his or her experience in an enriching and supportive environment. Mrs. Schaefer takes the time to give individual attention and she creates a positive vibe while making it so much fun for all. She is a kind and caring person who knows just how to tap into the individual

The BEST musical theatre camp my daughter has ever attended. Lyndsey managed to give each child the individual time to help them build and hone in on their strengths and shine as individuals as well as work with the entire cast to create a cohesive performance that amazed us. My daughter learned more in the two weeks of the Fine Tuned Performance camp than she has at any other theatre program she has attended. Outside of camp Lyndsey Schaeffer has worked with both of my daughters vocally for years and I would never use anyone else. They have worked with her to prepare for auditions. She assists
