We carry out this mission by providing unconditional care-never giving up on our students. We also carry out our mission by creating environments where all our students can be successful.

Our Approach to Behavior

BAC is not a "one size fits all" program. We serve students with a wide range of exceptionalities including students with varying intellectual disabilities, autism, emotional and behavioral disorders, auditory/visual disabilities, and learning disabilities.
In order to meet the diverse needs of the students we serve we take a practical and individualized approach to behavior change rather than dogmatically adhering to one theory or school of thought on what works.We unashamedly stand on the shoulders of many pioneers in behavior therapy that have gone before us.

Bayes Achievement Center is licensed by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services (HHSC). BAC is also nationally accredited through The Joint Commission. BAC is a licensed residential treatment center that serves children with behavior problems. Some children may have psychiatric illnesses, developmental disabilities or other handicapping conditions.
Residential and School

Unlike a hospital setting, Bayes Achievement Center offers a residential treatment program where staff continually work to provide a warm, caring, family-like atmosphere that replicates the nurturing environment of a home. In our teaching-homes our students engage in many of the same kinds of activities that they would do in their own house.
Counseling Services

Counseling at Bayes Achievement Center (BAC) is a vital part of the treatment experience for our high- functioning student population. Counseling allows for the formation of a relationship built on trust between the student and a trained professional. This relationship then becomes a catalyst for change, particularly as it addresses unhealthy thought processes.
Animal Care
Report
Interacting with pets and animals has a calming and relaxing effect on most people. By visiting and interacting regularly with the animals here at BAC, our students are more relaxed and healthier. Caring for animals provides an opportunity to experience a range of healthy emotions. Since many of our children have become "hardened" emotionally, tender feelings of kindness and compassion can be awakened in them by caring for a pet.
