Kodiak Island Charters (KIC) is a family business started out of a love for fishing, the ocean and the outdoors. The primary goal of our business has always been to share that love and passion with others by taking them out on deep-sea fishing excursions.

Fish here are plentiful and aggressive. From May to October, we target a mixed bag that includes halibut, salmon, sea bass and ling cod. Ever-present Pacific cod have become a popular catch as well, due to their excellent food-fare. Saltwater bag limits are 2 halibut, 2 king salmon, 5 other salmon (red, silver, pink and chum salmon), 3 sea bass and 2 ling cod.

We operate a cozy B&B in central Kodiak, comfortable for up to four people. The B&B isthe lower story of a duplex, a self-contained apartment (1,000 square feet), with two bedrooms (2 twin beds in each bedroom), a full bath and a large kitchen / dining area. We have a two-day minimum reservation requirement.

Enjoy and learn about Kodiak Wildlife and History from our experienced long-time charter captain and local tour guide. Our tour takes you past Kodiak's harbors and fishing fleet through breathtaking scenery of the nearby islands in pursuit of sea otters, sea lions, harbor seals, a multitude of seabirds including puffins, gulls, oyster catchers, guillemots and cormorants, and an opportunity to spot whales.

It is important to dress warmly, as weather can change quickly and we head out to fish rain or shine! Rain gear and layers are recommended, but boots are optional. Lunch, snacks, beverages, and tackle are all provided. Everyone on board is required to have a fishing license; in addition, nearly all of our clients also choose purchase a king salmon stamp.
