Ethos Jiu-Jitsu is dedicated to empowering individuals through the transformative art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Founded by experienced instructors Ron Mukai and Jerardo Linares, we offer structured programs for children aged 5 - 16 and adults of all skill levels, emphasizing character development, self-defense, and physical fitness. Our team includes world-class black belts with competitive and teaching experience across the U.S. and internationally.

We serve Fullerton, Anaheim, Brea, and the broader North Orange County area, with additional outreach through our non-profit East LA Jiu-Jitsu school. Our mission is to create champions in life by fostering discipline, confidence, and resilience through Jiu-Jitsu.

Kids Jiu-Jitsu

Our Kids Jiu-Jitsu program (ages 516) builds confidence, discipline, and self-defense skills through structured, age-appropriate instruction. Classes focus on foundational techniques while fostering physical fitness and mental resilience. The program accommodates all skill levels, from beginners to advanced students.

Adult Classes

Adult Jiu-Jitsu classes cater to beginners and advanced practitioners with fundamentals and all-levels sessions. Our curriculum emphasizes practical self-defense, technical mastery, and physical conditioning in a supportive environment. Classes are offered five days a week at multiple time slots.

Free Trial

New students can experience our training environment through a complimentary trial class. This allows potential members to assess our teaching style, facility, and community before committing to membership. The trial includes full access to age-appropriate classes.

Charter School Vendor

We partner with charter schools to provide Jiu-Jitsu training funded through educational programs. Approved vendors for multiple charter networks, we offer structured pricing at $169/month for up to five weekly classes. This program combines physical education with character development.

Retail Store

Our retail store offers official Jiu-Jitsu apparel, uniforms, and accessories including rash guards, gi, shorts, and training gear. Products feature branded designs and competition-ready equipment for students and competitors. Merchandise supports team identity and training needs.

Second-degree black belt under William Tetsch with 20+ years of experience. Founded Ethos Jiu-Jitsu and East LA Jiu-Jitsu non-profit. Competes nationally and teaches family-focused training.

Jerardo Linares

Founder/Instructor

Second-degree black belt with 20+ years of experience. Combines Jiu-Jitsu instruction with real estate brokerage. Focuses on character development through martial arts.

Wendy Mukai

Co-Founder/Instructor

IBJJF Master Worlds champion and black belt. Co-founded East LA Jiu-Jitsu non-profit. Teaches family-oriented classes emphasizing accessibility for all body types.

Here we are two+ years( +\ - a few) later and just now writing this. Well worth the wait though

Ok, Rewinding back to 2.5 years.........It started with me telling my husband that he needed to find hobby. That hobby turned into a lifestyle In less than a month. He was waking up at 6 am 5-6 days a week to "roll" right before work. I swear, he wasn't obsessed(winking face) My husband explained to me multiple times the benefits to this new lifestyle and decided to enroll 2 of 4 of our kids. I've been interested into training Brasilian Jiu-jitsu for awhile now and Im so happy to have found such a welcoming and encouraging academy. Head professors Ron and Jerry are very thorough and detailed with their instructions with each technique. This emphasis to details greatly help new students like me to gain confidence in properly executing the moves in drills. Everything we drill then is practiced with open mat to finish the class which for me was the fun about this martial art, figuring out ways to apply our practice in the live sparring. Great BJJ training and teammates! Everyone is welcoming and friendly. Professors Jerry and Ron are outstanding teachers and are motivating and pay attention to everyone.
