Meet The Horses
Report
Billy adapted beautifully to the life of a therapy horse. He is most comfortable interacting with his riders and volunteers, he truly is a "people" horse! He's very handsome, has a playful personality and loves to challenge all of us with his adorable kind face. Those looking at him would never guess he is a registered paint by his solid color.
Therapeutic Horseback Riding
Report
Therapeutic Horseback Riding lessons are taught by a PATH International Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor with a team of 1-3 volunteers per rider. Our lessons, both group and private, are held Monday through Saturday with specific goals set for each rider at the beginning of the session.

Riders are encouraged to participate in tasks and games that help develop physical strength and cognitive improvement with an emphasis on horseback riding skills which are performed in a safe environment that is both therapeutic and fun.In order to participate in our Therapeutic Horseback Riding program you must complete our New Rider Registration packet and return the originals to the Freedom Ride office.
Mental Wellness

Freedom Ride offers a Mental Wellness program known as Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL). EFL breaks through resistance, increases motivation, and offers a serene, non-clinical environment rarely present in traditional talk therapy for both the therapist and the client. EFL empowers people to find hope in healing and solutions for life's challenges.
