Carver Brewing
It started with Jim, Bill, Sara and Eleanor Carver. In 1986 Jim, Bill and Barb Wynne opened Carvers Bakery / Caf in Durango and opened the brewery in 1988 to become the Southwest's first brewpub. In 1983 before the small batch brewing movement was even a twinkle in the publics' eyes, Carver Brewing Company had it's first incarnation as Carver Brothers Bakery in Winter Park, Colorado.

In 1986 part of the original crew, including the Carver Brothers, Bill and Jim, decided to head to Southwest Colorado to open Carvers Bakery/Caf in Durango. The love of baking soon spread to making the cleanest and best small batch beer in the Southwest. In 1988 Carvers opened the brewery - making it the first brewery in the four corners region since prohibition and the second brewpub in the state of Colorado.

We know that great experiences seldom, if ever, come from any one person. It's the team that matters most and we are proud of the people that make your experience what it is. Famous for low turn over of staff, we spend time and effort helping our staff become the best they can be and in turn they help us be the best restaurant we can be.

Patrick has a deep appreciation for clean, European lagers, as he says "there's nothing to hide behind." He joins Brewer Cody Looman in occasionally playing the mad scientist role, and expressing some brewing creativity (as you will notice from the vast list of seasonals). Always expect to find something on tap for the hopheads, a Belgian style, one of the distinct seasonal lagers Patrick is so found of, and something you've never had before.
