Our Story
Report
For over fifty years the Athens Bulldog Swim Club has been promoting swimming excellence in the greater Athens area. Founded in the 1940s as the Athens Swim Club, the team provided generations of Athens area youth an opportunity to participate in year-round competitive swimming. With its home in Stegeman Hall, a WPA era indoor pool, the program was once run by legendary Georgia Tennis Coach, Dan Magill.

ABSC Safe Sport
Report
At ABSC we are committed to maintaining a positive, healthy, and safe environment for our athletes at all times. To that end, ABSC participates in the USA-Swimming Safe Sport club recognition program. Resources and materials related to Safe Sport can be found below. Any questions may be addressed to the ABSC Safe Sport coordinator, Jonathan Foggin.
Gups
Report
Swimmers in the Gups group are introduced to ABSC, USA Swimming, and the sport as a whole! We teach the four competitive strokes so swimmers become swim meet-ready, and swimmers learn the ins and outs of what it's like to be a member of our team. Gups are encouraged to participate in USA Swimming sanctioned meets, so swimmers in this group should be able to complete at least 1 25-yard lap of each stroke.
Masters
Report
Workouts focus on general fitness and stroke technique, but for those who are interested, elements of race training and strategy are incorporated as well. This mix makes the program an ideal place for both the casual swimmer, whose main interest is to stay in shape, as well as those whose goals are oriented toward competition, such as US Masters swimmers and triathletes.
