Red River Dance | Classical Ballet Training & Performances
Red River Dance has been dedicated to developing and promoting classical ballet for youth in Central Louisiana since 2005. Our mission focuses on providing family entertainment while training young dancers to become skilled and confident performers. We offer supplemental dance training twice monthly and create opportunities for dancers to perform at community events like Alex Winter Fte and Juneteenth celebrations. Our annual production of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker has become a beloved local tradition, complemented by smaller spring ballets such as Peter and the Wolf and Alice in Wonderland. We believe dance transforms lives and builds stronger communities through arts education in local schools.

Our team of experienced instructors includes artistic director Jaime Brock, who brings decades of teaching and performance expertise from her work with Louisiana Delta Ballet and Steps By Stepahanie Dance Studio. We maintain rigorous training standards with structured audition processes and professional performance opportunities for dancers of all stages. Our programming emphasizes both technical excellence and artistic expression, fostering a supportive environment where young dancers develop both skill and confidence.

Community Performances
We present dancers at major local events including Alex Winter Fte, Juneteenth celebrations, Art Walk, and Junior League of Alexandria's A Very Merry Market. These performances showcase our students' progress while enriching community cultural life. Our outreach extends to Rapides Parish's Summer School enrichment activities and other educational programs that bring dance to broader audiences.
Nutcracker Production
Our annual production of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker has become a cherished holiday tradition since 2005. The weekend-after-Thanksgiving performances at Alexandria's 1202 3rd St venue feature elaborate staging and professional production values. This flagship event demonstrates our commitment to high-quality classical ballet while providing showcase opportunities for our most advanced students.
Spring Ballets
In addition to our Nutcracker production, we stage smaller spring ballets that include both classical and contemporary works. Past productions like Peter and the Wolf, Alice in Wonderland, and Hansel and Gretel demonstrate our programming diversity. These performances offer younger dancers and newer students valuable stage experience in a professional setting.
Arts Education Programs
We partner with local schools to enrich arts education through dance workshops and performance demonstrations. Our programs align with educational standards while making classical ballet accessible to diverse student populations. These initiatives reflect our mission to use dance as a tool for community development and youth empowerment.
