About Us
Report
It all started in 1999, when our founder, Shane Coker, at 28 years old, opened an unassuming little mattress store in Austin Texas.
He had sort of grew up in the industry, and after carrying all the big "S" brands (Sealy, Simmons, Serta, Spring Air) & new fad memory foam brands (Temperpedic, etc), and after experiencing all the different technologies & core components that were on the market, he came to realize firsthand what worked & what didn't, what was real and what was fad, in sleep.

Traditional vs Organic
Report
Consumers are becoming increasingly smarter about what they put in their bodies: we pay more attention to labels and demand transparency from food companies. So why should the way we sleep be any different? Shouldn't the place where your family members sleep be a safe one? Mattress regulations changed drastically in 2007 with the introduction of new fire retardant standards.
Beware of Greenwashing
Report
Some of our local competitors claim to, but NONE, not one, of the mattresses they list as "organic" are actually certified organic products. This is referred to in the industry as "greenwashing". Very simply, ask for the organic certifications on ANY of the mattresses these stores list as "organic".
Why Do Non-Organic Mattresses Contain Harmful Chemicals
Report
As consumers demand more transparent practices from the businesses they patronize and the world they live in, they are often possessed by a perplexing quandary: why is a mattress required to be flame retardant, yet companies aren't required to make products free of cancer-causing agents? The short answer is that it became an issue of politics.
Certifications
Report
You may hear about organic, chemical-free certifications for our mattresses, but what do these designations actually mean? We break down the common certifications our mattresses have. If a mattress carries a Global Organic Latex Standard seal, it means it has passed the standard for organic latex and finished latex foam.
