Bay View is a full service lab, now serving dentists through three generations for almost 75 years. Owners Buddy and Rick Shafer are both Board Certified Technicians and still work full time at the bench. They are joined by an experienced team of technicians and support staff with a shared passion for dental technology and service to dentistry.
The foundation and success for Bay View was built around a passion for customer service and consistent, high quality work. General dentistry work is still handled by Buddy Shafer personally, and cosmetic dentistry is led by Rick Shafer. Additional specialty departments include implants, removable, and diagnostic wax-ups - all led by highly skilled, board certified technicians.

For over 75 years, and into the third generation, the Shafer family has served the dental industry with commitment, professionalism and passion. Mr. Vernon Shafer, Sr. began his career in the dental laboratory field in the 1930's. During World War 2, he served as the senior dental technician, managing the central lab for the allies in London.

Bay View offers an array of services far beyond full service restorative work. Diagnostic wax-ups, computer imaging and estimates are a must for the contemporary dental practice. For the growing or transitioning practice, our support with FREE staff training is a huge benefit. This can vary from digital photography to diagnostic waxing with everything in between.

The key to the success of our business has been, and continues to be, the quality of our people. The average technician in our lab has over twenty years of experience and most are board certified. Backgrounds from ten different countries give us diversity like few laboratories in the country. Our beautiful facility features an open layout and design, incorporating studio-like work areas.
