The History Department assists students in gaining an understanding of the past's significance to their own lives, as well as to the broader society in which they live. To borrow from the words of a renowned historian, our students study history "not to be more clever next time, but to be wise forever."

Our Campuses

Located in Shaker Heights, Ohio, the US Shaker Campus is home to more than 460 boys in kindergarten through grade 8. Built in 1925, the school retains its traditional beauty on a 32-acre site in historic Shaker Heights. The campus features Conway Hall, a 32,000 square-foot performing arts and science complex, and the Primary Education Wing, which is specially designed for young boys.

Leading the way in education, University School's Speaker Series features nationally renowned speakers addressing a variety of topics of interest to parents and the general community.
