Welters was founded in 1936 by Leo and Dominic Welter in St Michael, MN. By the mid 1960's Dominic and Carl Welter decided to open another location - this one in Buffalo. They were joined in that venture by Paul Trueman, establishing Trueman-Welters. Today, the business is run by Carl's sons, Mark and Paul Welter.
