BSR is one of the premier horseback riding facilities in the Syracuse area. Located in Phoenix, NY, we are just a 2 minute drive from 481, and are close to Cicero, North Syracuse, Baldwinsville, Liverpool, Fulton, Central Square, and Oswego, and are just 25 minutes from downtown Syracuse. Horseback riding lessons for beginners and advanced students are available in dressage, jumping, and western.

Baker School of Riding is one of the premier equine facilities in the Syracuse area. Located in Phoenix, NY, we are just 25 minutes from downtown Syracuse, 20 minutes to Cicero, and just 10-15 minutes from Baldwinsville, Liverpool, and Fulton. Operating since 2009, we moved to our current facility in 2010 in order to be able to offer our students a wider range of services and amenities.

Baker School of Riding is located on nearly 26 acres of meadows and woods, and is capable of housing up to 17 horses in 3 barns. Our newly completed 62'x100' indoor riding arena contains sand and crumb rubber footing, over 100 feet of windows to let in ample natural light, and a professional lighting plan with 20 high powered LED lights.

At Baker School of Riding, we believe in teaching more than just horseback riding. We believe in taking the time necessary to develop safe handling and horse care practices, ground work knowledge, and secure and balanced seats in every rider, to help develop confidence and excellence in both the rider and the horse.
New Students

We know that there is a lot to learn when first entering the world of horses and to help every student get off on the right track, our "New Student Lesson Package" has been designed to offer a comprehensive foundation in the basics. You will receive a total of 8 lessons in one month- 4 riding lessons and 4 non-riding lessons, and will receive a copy of the Certified Horsemanship Association Composite Manual.
About The Instructor

Laura is the founder of Baker School of Riding and is a partner in Baker Farm and Equestrian Center, LLC. She is a graduate of Houghton College where she completed a bachelor's degree in Equestrian Studies in 2008. Laura has been riding, showing, and working with horses for over 20 years, and teaching lessons and training horses since 2005.
