Inland Northwest Musicians will establish and operate a regional orchestra and chorale to provide performances and musical education for the enrichment of musicians and citizens of the area. R. Lee Friese serves as Music Director and Conductor for all ensembles. He has a Master's degree in both choral and instrumental conducting from Bowling Green University in Ohio.
He has over 30 years experience in conducting and in music education. He served as Associate Conductor with the Youth Orchestra of Greater Fort Worth, Texas, Music Director and Conductor for the Walla Walla Symphony, and was Founding Conductor and Music Director of the Oregon East Symphony. Mr. Friese was one of the core founders of Inland Northwest Musicians in 1999.

Inland Northwest Musicians was founded in 1999 by a group of instrumentalists and vocalists interested in forming a classical music organization that reflected certain core values. Music is a lifelong pursuit that contributes to health, well-being and a high quality of life. A regional arts organization should truly represent and serve the region, be "owned" by and accountable to its membership.

Inland Northwest Musicians hosts a Young Artist Competition each Spring. This competition offers young musicians from elementary age through young adult the opportunity to perform for adjudication, competing for cash prizes and possible selection to be a guest artist in concert with the Inland Northwest Orchestra.

Inland Northwest Orchestra, our premiere symphonic ensemble, rehearses in Pendleton. Volunteer musicians travel many hundreds of miles to participate in performing the world's great orchestral literature. Inland Northwest Chorale is INWM's vocal ensemble. The Chorale presents individual concerts, as well as joining forces with the Inland Northwest Orchestra to perform major choral/orchestral works and holiday offerings.

We appreciate all our patrons and list them individually in every concert program. All our concerts are offered free to the public and all donations are tax deductible as we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
