Handcrafted Iron Art & Custom Metalwork in Two Harbors, MN
At Burton Forge & Gallery, we specialize in hand-forged ironwork that blends functionality with artistic expression. Our founder, Dale Burton, brings decades of expertise as a blacksmith and carpenter, crafting unique metal pieces that reflect both tradition and innovation. Using materials like aged steel, reclaimed wood, and copper, we create custom fireplace hardware, lighting fixtures, and sculptures tailored to individual spaces. Our gallery in Two Harbors, MN, showcases one-of-a-kind works that celebrate the natural character of raw materials. With a commitment to sustainability, we repurpose timbers and metals to build both our creations and the gallery itself.

Visitors often remark on the contrast between our rustic exterior and the refined artistry within. Every item in our collection is handmade, ensuring no two pieces are identical. We pride ourselves on collaborating directly with clients to bring their visions to life, whether through functional ironwork or liturgical art installations. Our process honors the history of blacksmithing while embracing modern creativity. For over 30 years, we have served clients seeking bespoke metalwork that transcends mass-produced alternatives.

Custom metal sculptures transform spaces with dynamic forms and textures. We create both secular and liturgical pieces, including the Stations of the Cross for Concordia Lutheran Church. Each sculpture captures the organic beauty of aged steel through hand-forging techniques passed down through generations of blacksmiths.

Each lighting piece serves as both functional illumination and sculptural art, complementing residential and commercial interiors.

Real blacksmith forged decor. Gates, door hinges, wall hooks, chandeliers, pot racks, headboards, light fixtures, candle holders, weather vanes, etc. Beautiful work available in his gallery, or he said he does lots of custom work. We bought lots of presents for family on our stop. Only open Friday-Sunday 10am-5pm when we stopped by, but well worth the wait for the gallery to open. Will definitely return.
