In 2016, we learned about a proposal to partner with Easthampton Parks and Rec. for boat rentals on the pond. The bid had closed, but with no winner. As we had just moved into the town, we thought it would a great way to engage with our new community. So, when the RFP was released again in 2017, we got to work.
The bid was set to close in the middle of a Nor'easter, but a blizzard was not going to hold us back! In February, we learned we had won the bid and that Valley Paddler would be born! As recreational kayakers and parents to an active toddler, we are approaching this from a consumer point of view. We hope to provide a service to the people of Easthampton, and surrounding towns, with a varying array of boats and experiences at reasonable prices.

What to Expect on the Pond
Report
Nashawannuck Pond offers over a mile of picturesque boating, teeming with wildlife. You can expect to see birds, possibly turtles, and even beaver, while you take in the scenic view of Mt. Tom. Once you pass the notch on the right side, you'd never know you were a short trip from Easthampton Center.
