My wife and I are both native to the Cobb, Cherokee, and Fulton counties area. After college, I enlisted in the Army and became an airborne infantryman.
I served in the 4th Brigade 25th Infantry division under the 3rd/509th PIR (Parachute Infantry Regiment) at Ft. Richardson in Alaska. In 2006, I did a 14-month tour in Iraq, mostly Fallujah, where I received a Purple Heart before coming home in 2007. In 2009, I was medically retired from the military and came back to Georgia.
