As assessed by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, we recommend that a child's first visit be by his/her first birthday. It is at this time that it is important to instill in the child a welcoming and comforting perception of the office. We'd like for your child to enjoy getting to know the doctor and staff in order to become comfortable with the idea of the dentist!

A productive, pleasant first visit will help to ensure trust and future ease in coming for appointments. The doctors and staff will be more than happy to explain to the child any questions, anxieties or fears that they may have. We want our office to be a fun environment! We will record the child's dental and medical history, complete a comprehensive examination and discuss any findings with you.

Find the tooth. Handle the tooth by the top (crown), not the root portion. You may rinse the tooth, however, avoid cleaning and handling the tooth as much as possible. You may try to reinsert it in its socket. Have the child hold the tooth in place by biting on a clean gauze or cloth. If you cannot reinsert the tooth, place the tooth in a cup containing milk / saliva.
Brushing & Flossing
Report
For areas between the teeth that a toothbrush can't reach, dental floss is used to remove food particles and plaque. Dental floss is a thin thread of waxed nylon that is used to reach below the gum line and clean between teeth. It is very important to floss between your teeth every day. Pull a small length of floss from the dispenser.
Dental Care 4 Infants
Report
When teeth first come in, some babies may have sore or tender gums. Gently rubbing your child's gums with a clean finger, a small, cool spoon or a wet gauze pad can be soothing. You can also give the baby a clean teething ring to chew on. If your child is still cranky and in pain, consult your dentist or physician.
FAQ's
Report
Four things are necessary for cavities to form - a tooth, bacteria, sugars or other carbohydrates and time. Dental plaque is a thin, sticky, colorless deposit of bacteria that constantly forms on everyone's teeth. When you eat, the sugars in your food cause the bacteria in plaque to produce acids that attack the tooth enamel.
