The two biggest publishers, Marvel Comics and DC, dominate the market, selling around 70 percent of all book bought. Image Comics, IDW Publishing, Dark Horse Comics, BOOM! Studios and Dynamite Entertainment make up the next 15 percent of the market.
After that, the final 15 percent is made up of small publisher like Viz Media, Valiant Entertainment, Aftershock Comics, Archie Comics, Oni Press, Random House, St. Martins Press, Action Lab Ent., Zenescope Ent., and Fantagraphics Books. Of these, only Viz Media sells above one percent of US retail sales.
