Our History
Report
Horseplay Therapeutic Riding Center was founded in Vacaville, California, by RuthAnn Davis, in 1995. Following an auto accident and later being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis Miss Davis used horse therapy to treat her own physical needs.

Realizing the value of using horses for therapy, she joined the nationally recognized organization, North American Riding for the Handicap Association (NARHA) - which has since been renamedProfessional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl). She became a certified instructor, and then opened her Vacaville NARHA Center, naming it Horseplay Therapeutic Riding Center.

She has been helping run our program for over 15 years in every aspect of our operations and has been a key person in making us the successful center we are today. Sharon Commisso is a fantastic instructor who drives from Napa to offer our riders fantastic lessons. Note: It takes almost a year of hard work and many steps to become an internationally recognized PATH Instructor.
Horses
Report
Horseplay horses are free-leased to the program. Of course, safety is our primary concern, and we screen many horses before deciding which horse will be perfect for our program. He's a well-rounded dude, great on the trail and in the arena. At 16.3 hands, Pluto is Horseplay's gentle giant! A Dutch warmblood, he was imported from Queen Elizabeth's stable and competed at the three-star level in eventing in his younger years.
