Interact Theatre Company has been a cornerstone of Los Angeles' theatrical landscape since its founding in 1989. Originally established as a play reading group in Sherman Oaks, the company has grown into a nationally recognized nonprofit organization celebrated for its professional ensemble performances and community engagement. Our mission centers on presenting bold ensemble works spanning world classics and contemporary American plays while providing accessible arts education to underserved youth. Through initiatives like The Prize Winners series in partnership with the Los Angeles Public Library, we deliver free staged readings of Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning plays, fostering cultural enrichment across diverse communities. The company's artistic excellence has been recognized with 85 industry awards, including the 2023 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Best Ensemble honor.

Our educational programs, including the annual Interplay summer camp and master classes, demonstrate our commitment to nurturing emerging talent and making live theatre accessible to all. With over 1,000 public play readings and 40 full-scale productions to our credit, we continue to innovate through digital content creation while maintaining our core values of artistic integrity and community service. I saw the screenplay reading performance of The Great White Hope at the NOHO libruary free play program. All the actresses, in particular, gave great Tony award quality performances as if it were performed on a professional stage. What a great opportunity to see top quality theatrical acting for free!
