Over the last ten years, the Center for Pain Management has developed an in-house ketamine suite, dedicated to patients with CRPS. We are developing a center of excellence in pain management and are committed to diagnosing and treating pain.

Ketamine Instructions

Ketamine treatments can be the solution to prolonged and overwhelming pain in some patients and it's of the utmost importance that you or anybody who is receiving Ketamine treatments to follow the instructions that we provide. We look for our patients to enjoy the treatment without any inconveniences that could potentially make the experience less pleasant.
Pre-Procedure Instructions

Please arrive promptly 1 & 1/2 hours prior to your procedure at Hudson Crossing Surgery Center. Please arrive promptly 1 hour prior to your procedure at Hackensack University Medical Center. All blood thinning or platelet altering medications must be stopped seven days prior to procedure. Xarelto - under 65 years of age, stop 1-2 days before procedure; over 65 years of age, stop 3 days before your procedure.
Intrathecal Pumps

An intrathecal pump is a medical device used to deliver medication via an intrathecal catheter (tube), directly into the space between the spinal cord and the protective sheath (dura mater) surrounding the spinal cord. This is the CSF (cerebrospinal fluid). Medications such as baclofen, morphine, and ziconotide are approved for administration by the FDA.
Ketamine Infusions

Ketamine is a medication that was approved in the 1970 primarily used for starting and maintaining anesthesia. It induces dissociative anesthesia, a trance-like state providing pain relief, sedation, and amnesia. The distinguishing features of ketamine anesthesia are preserved breathing and airway reflexes, stimulated heart function with increased blood pressure, and moderate bronchodilation.
