A non-profit organization, one of its purposes are to further the advancement of purebred dogs and encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience trials. We also work hard with the community to train their dogs, whether purebred or lovable mix, to create a well balanced, well mannered dog who is a joy to have with you.
In order to accomplish these goals, the club sponsors an annual dog show in September, holds training classes throughout the year, and maintains a breeders directory. We also run Canine Good Citizen tests and other information seminars periodically. We are seen throughout the year at various demonstrations, expos, and charity events with many of our club members and their dogs.

Training Staff
Report
Our training staff is a group of volunteers who volunteer their time, energy, and talent to make our training program the best we can. With over 150 years combined experience, our staff will work with you and your dog to make your training the most pleasurable and effective time ever. Each member brings their own unique style and background to the class, so we are able to recommend alternative methods of training based on your individual dog.

Ask 10 people this question and you will get 10 different answers. There is no right or wrong way to train a dog, and every dog is different. What will work for one dog does not work for another. In our classes, we teach a standard method of positioning and praise, with a firm but gentle hand. However, we also will modify our lesson for that individual student who is not responding to this method.
Classes
Report
At the Kenosha Kennel Club, we offer classes for Puppy Kindergarten, Basic Obedience, Advanced Obedience, Advanced Troubleshooting, Rally, and Conformation Handling. The classes are discussed, in detail, on the individual class pages. We welcome any questions or concerns you have regarding our training program, and invite you to pop into the training building Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday nights to talk with any of our instructors.
Classes - Advanced
Report
You want to keep working with your dog, so you and he don't lose the training knowledge you have gained. So we are offering an ongoing class that can take you to the next level. Our advanced class is a continuation of the basic course. Dogs from just out of beginners all the way through having a couple of obedience titles are in this class.
Classes - Basic
Report
Our basic obedience classes are for any dogs over 6 months old - there is no "top limit" for the age of the dog, as yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks! Our basic class runs a 1 hour orientation, which is people only, no dogs. During this orientation, key information is passed along regarding the training staff, the class, and what you can expect from us.
