We are John VerPlanck and Jennifer Laskey VerPlanck, long-time wine enthusiasts, who think a wine shop should be fun, informative and not the least bit stuffy. We know our wines, have visited many of the regions and wineries, and have been fortunate to taste some incredible wines with the winemakers; France, Italy and California are our favorite places to travel!

Harpswell consists of a ten mile long peninsula and three large islands ( Orrs, Bailey and Sebascodegan or Great Island) which are all connected by a series of bridges and some 200 smaller islands dotting the ocean nearby. Eagle Island, Admiral Robert Peary's home, which is a historic site, is just offshore, and can be visited in the summer.

We are a family owned and operated store; we are not a large "Super Store", but we do have an extensive and thoughtful collection with about 500 different wines in stock. We bring in new wines weekly. We carefully choose our wine inventory to include the very best value from as many wine regions of the world as possible.

We have tantalizing, delicious craft brews. So many to choose from! We always have something new in. We like supporting Maine Breweries; there are over 150 Maine- based Breweries now! We like to keep our stock fresh, and have about 50 different labels in our store, rotating between seasonal and hard to get beers as well as our best sellers, on the shelf or chilled.
