Scuba Certification
Our comprehensive Open Water certification program teaches essential diving skills through classroom learning, pool training, and open water dives. Students learn equipment use, underwater navigation, and safety procedures. Courses include academic study, confined water practice, and four open water dives to complete certification.
Technical Diving

Dive Trips

I was certified in Michigan in 2012 and it was not a pleasant experience. When I decided to get re-certified and signed up for the weekend class with DSoM, I was pretty stressed. Well, I was stressed for nothing. Steve has developed a "wade into the water" approach that helped me build my comfort before moving on to the next skill. He also teaches a lot of muscle memory exercises so that if you're ever in a real world situation, you will know exactly what to do, without even having to think about it. Steve is also infinitely patient with students with struggles. I can't recommend DSoM highly enough

My husband and I just finished the first stage of our scuba certification and we wish we could give higher than a five star rating. Stephen and Mary Beth were absolutely wonderful instructors. They were very thorough in explaining each skill and also took the time to explain why they were important to know while giving real world examples. We were able to take our time learning each skill and were able to go at our own pace. We left feeling confident in skills we had learned and are excited for the next stage. We cant thank them enough!

Just finished up our open water pool sessions with Wesley at the dive shop. Wesley was super patient, answering lots of questions, explaining things and taking things slow with me since I was really nervous. I now feel confident to move on to get my open water certification! Steve and Danielle were awesome with helping us pick out the perfect equipment for us and setting everything up for our class. We are excited to keep working with The Dive shop on McEver for future dives and training!
