Philadelphia Sinfonia's 25th Anniversary Season kicks off with a special concert on Janunary 23, 2022, at the Temple Performing Arts Center, featuring a Philadelphia premiere of local composer Kile Smith's new work! The Philadelphia Sinfonia youth orchestras support the artistic growth of young musicians in the Delaware Valley by providing high-level ensemble experience in a supportive educational environment.
We believe that the pursuit of excellence requires performers with integrity, working together toward a common goal. Thus, our mission is three-fold: to provide ensemble performance opportunities for young musicians, to achieve the highest level of artistic advancement, and to educate young people broadly to be strong citizens and leaders as well as responsible musicians.

At Philadelphia Sinfonia Association (PSA) we challenge our students to extend their musical training beyond technical excellence and to develop artistic mastery of the repertoire they perform. We lead them into the minds and hearts of the composers whose work they play and provide theoretical understanding of these compositions.
The Orchestras

The award-winning Philadelphia Sinfonia is our most advanced full symphonic orchestra for talented students with significant orchestral experience. Composed of musicians aged 14 to 23, PS has a rich history of performing some of the greatest orchestral works, including Mahler's Symphony No. 1, Brahms' Symphony No. 2, Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, among others.

Most recently, Hummel has been a senior consultant for the AJS Consulting Group, a Colorado based company focused on fundraising, marketing, and management support for a range of nonprofits throughout the United States, and he still maintains a portfolio of 2-4 small nonprofits. Hummel's primary role as a consultant centers around grant writing, grant research, social media consulting, and general marketing support.

Next year is our 25th Anniversary Season! 25 Years! Our rich past; your musical future! To protect everyone's safety, auditions will be held ONLY by pre-recorded video submission. Acceptances will be on a rolling basis, as videos are received. We encourage you to submit your video as soon as possible, as our rehearsals have already begun!
