With over 30 years of experience in breeding, handling, and showing of Yorkshire Terriers, Judy and Jim Marksbury established Happy Tails in order to provide a home-like environment for pets needing to be boarded. They pride themselves on providing personalized care and a loving environment for pets while their family is away.
Unlike other boarding kennels, the resort is adjacent to the Marksbury private residence, allowing for 24 hour supervision. Our personalized approach to boarding pets is designed to give owners peace of mind knowing their four-legged companions are in safe, loving hands. DOG FLU ALERT - The Canine Flu vaccination and booster shot are now required to board at Happy Tails. Documentation from your veterinarian is required to show that booster was given within 2-3 weeks of initial vaccination. Whether it's their first experience, or they're seasoned regulars, their wellbeing is central to everything we do.

Lily Bouch was a beloved employee of Happy Tails Pet Resort and an avid animal lover. A graduate of Floyd Central High School, Lily was attending The University of Louisville when she unexpectedly passed away. Lily's family felt that one of the best ways to honor her memory was to care for animals in need; which is something Lily felt strongly about.
