Anyone who tells you that wine tasting is serious business or makes you feel bad about your level of wine knowledge is just plain missing the point - and we'll be more than happy to straighten them out for you. We'll also be happy to answer all of your questions about wine so that you can hold your own in party conversation with the snobbiest wine geek.
We don't believe in dumbing down our wines for novice tasters - we believe that everyone can enjoy great wine and that the better the wine, the more fun you'll have. Our production highlights somewhat offbeat varieties - Mourvedre, Lemberger, Chenin Blanc, Roussanne - as well as more well-known favorites (Syrah, Pinot Grigio.).

Our founder and winemaker, Matt Albee, having hung up his racing bike after chasing the dream of professional suffering on two wheels around the globe, started looking around for what to do next.
Having left graduate school in physics years earlier to pursue bicycle racing while his legs were still young, he considered going back to school, but the slow pace of scientific research is enough to lull just about anyone to sleep, which is what it did to him one morning as he dozed over a neuropsychology text in the Fall of 1999.

We have two tasting locations on Bainbridge Island: our Winslow Way tasting room located an easy 10-minute walk from the ferry, and our winery location on Day Road. At both locations we offer a range of tasting flights and glass pours (check out a recent menu here), and food is available for purchase to go with.

Grab a glass of wine and join Salish Sea Greens as they shuck some of the finest oysters the Puget Sound has to offer. Their oyster bar is complete with all the fixings including (kelp mignonette, lemon and tabasco). Songbird plays a very eclectic selection of folk, alt-folk, pop, country and some good ol' rock and roll with a smattering of blues just for good measure!

You can help make all of these things happen by becoming a member of our wine club (yes, you can even help make the wine). There is no cost to join; it's just a one-year commitment to receive quarterly shipments of our best wines, substantially discounted from the retail price.
