Copper #1 - uncoated, clean, unalloyed copper - is the most desired type of scrap metal. This can include punchings, clippings, bus bars, pipe, and wire over 1/16 thick with no burnt or brittle pieces. Copper #2 - clean, unalloyed copper - is also in high demand, but unlike #1, it needs to be cleaned before recycling.
