Discover San Dimas History with Our Historical Society
Founded in 1966, the San Dimas Historical Society has dedicated over five decades to preserving and sharing the rich history of San Dimas. Our organization curates extensive digital archives, historical documents, and artifacts that chronicle the town's evolution from its 19th-century origins to modern times. Located in the historic Walker House, a meticulously preserved 1887 Queen Anne Revival structure, we offer public access to our collections and host educational programs that engage community members of all ages. Our team of passionate volunteers maintains this cultural landmark while operating a gift shop featuring vintage treasures that support our preservation efforts. Through tax-deductible donations and membership programs, including life memberships and patron contributions, we ensure the continued protection of San Dimas' heritage. Our mission extends beyond mere preservationwe actively foster historical appreciation through outreach initiatives, special events, and partnerships with local institutions.

The Walker House itself stands as a testament to our commitment, having served as San Dimas' first school, church, and community gathering space. We maintain rigorous standards for historical accuracy and conservation practices, drawing on both local expertise and statewide historical networks. Our programming emphasizes accessibility, offering flexible volunteer opportunities and public hours that accommodate diverse schedules. As stewards of this important historical resource, we balance tradition with innovation, utilizing modern technology to digitize collections while maintaining the authenticity of our physical archives. This dual approach ensures both immediate engagement and long-term preservation for future generations.

The San Dimas Historical Society has a very extensive archive filled with photos and information from years back. I enjoy visiting the Walker House and checking out the vintage boutique and the museum. They also have a vintage walk about in the downtown area on the first Saturday of every month.
