Native tree by native tree, acre by acre, River Partners reforestation projects grow a resilient future for people, wildlife and our planet. Our groundbreaking approach unites cutting-edge ecological science with farming practices to bring new life to floodplains and river forests at a pace and scale that matter.
Our innovative partnerships nourish the ecosystems, economies and communities of California by creating green jobs, expanding flood safety and healthy open space, building wildlife habitat for fragile species, conserving freshwater resources, and storing carbon in growing river forests. We're working with government and science partners to reintroduce western monarch habitat statewide at the largest coordinated scale in the West.

About
Report
River Partners connects a bold vision of bringing life back to rivers with the hard, detailed work of rebuilding wild places, creating homes for wildlife, and improving our landscapes for the benefit of future generations. Two decades ago, a pair of conservation-minded California farmers had a path-breaking realization: farmers and ecologists could work together to regenerate riparian forests.

Projects

River Partners permanently protects habitat for federal and state listed species on thousands of acres of riverbanks - one tree, one shrub and one native grass seed at a time. River Partners is the only California nonprofit that acquires, restores and protects riparian ecosystems on a large scale. We invite you to explore some of the 120 projects in 14 watersheds that we have completed throughout California.
