As of 2/15/21 we will start to see more patients in the office for Adult annual wellness/physical exams through the end of February, and it will increase in March for Adult annual wellness/physicals and Pediatric well. We will need this information specifically regarding one of the four plans you have chosen (Healthy Blue, UHC, AmeriHealth Caritas, Wellcare).

At Our Family Doctor with the multitude of insurance plans, we try to help our patients understand the requirements and answer questions as needed. Our Billing Supervisor is available to educate and navigate through this process. We are always looking for ways to make things easier for our patients, so if you have any suggestions, please let us know.
Cash Paying Patients

At Our Family Doctor (OFD) we realize that many of our patients are either between jobs, or for some other reason do not have health insurance. Even without active health insurance, we believe that everybody deserves to have a personal physician. At Our Family Doctor we will do our best to meet the needs of our cash paying patients by offering a standard cash paying discount for our services.
Meredith Polansky, MD

Dr. Meredith Polansky completed her residency from MAHEC here in Asheville. She joined Ravenscroft Family Health Center in 2008 after traveling and working/volunteering around the world. In 2011, she co-founded Our Family Doctor with Dr. Weizman, another Asheville doctor. As with all members of the Our Family Doctor medical staff, she is passionately committed to the welfare of individuals and families wherever they live.
Michael Weizman, MD

Dr. Weizman is one of the most passionate and energetic doctors in Asheville, NC, not only to his patients but his life as well. A graduate of Temple University School of Medicine, he completed his family practice residency in Renton, WA, just outside of Seattle.
While completing his residency, and while serving as chief resident, Dr. Weizman volunteered to serve externships in Swaziland, Africa and Kotzebue, Alaska; experiences that have left a lasting impression on him.In 2001, after his residency, Dr. Weizman and his wife (also an Asheville Doctor) relocated to Asheville where he joined Ravenscroft Family Health Center.

Jodi Schwab, MD

As a competitive swimmer at the University of Kentucky (and an SEC post graduate scholarship recipient), Dr. Jodi Schwab knows all too well the value of hard work. Jodi joined Ravenscroft Family Health Center right out of residency in 2002, where she brought that determination to work every day.
After graduating from the University of Kentucky, College of Medicine in 1999, her love of outdoor recreation and live music lured Dr. Schwab to Asheville to complete her residency at the Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) where she served as chief resident.Dr. Schwab is a huge proponent for prevention and encourages better health through exercise, dietary modification, and non pharmaceutical treatments whenever possible.
