A Lakeside Studio Pottery is a small pottery located on the eastern shore of Androscoggin Lake in the lovely idyllic village of Wayne, Maine. My gallery and studio spaces are located in a home-like setting right next door-a very inspirational lakefront place to work! Martha's pottery is admired and collected by people throughout New England as well as the rest of the East coast.
Each piece is unique. Although most of her whimsical face mugs and 'wine snob' goblets each bear different expressions, you will be able to find one to identify with. I am a 60-something self-taught potter that studied photography and sculpture in college. Thirty-plus years of working with clay has always been a joy to me. I especially love red earthenware clay in combination with opalescent blue and turquoise glazes, allowing the rich red clay colors to show through to enhance the glaze design.
