I am the photographer behind Lori Black Photography. I'm so excited you are here and I promise you that you are in the right place. I've been a Lincoln, Nebraska and Omaha-based portrait and wedding photographer and videographer for nearly a decade. Wow! I can't believe I've been doing this that long!

A little background on myself - I am a former journalist who took photos for my career. However the portrait and wedding side of photography is something I feel I've become good at through a lot of self-teaching, online studying and practice, practice, practice! Personally, I'm married to Tony Black, a Lincoln schoolteacher and mad bicycling enthusiast.

That's a statement that I suspect many families make. Families are so busy, the kids grow up so fast, and all it seems anyone has are a few snapshots taken with smart phones. Getting formal family portraits taken is really quite easy. Send me a note or give me a call and we will set a date. Afterward, you will be happy to have photos you will love to hang on your wall.

Photo sessions with senior high school students are among my favorite. I love meeting these young people and learning about their interests and endeavors. I find they are very interested in expressing their personality through their senior portraits, which makes taking their pictures even more fun.

I once got an email from a woman who wanted to get some pictures taken of herself to help her promote self-healing and empowerment after going through some trauma. She said she felt ugly and wanted to have a photo shoot to help her realize how beautiful she really is. Photography isn't always just photos.
