History

DC3 was founded in 1935 in response to the hardships and challenges of Ford County citizens during the Great Depression. Originally known as Dodge City Junior College-and later Dodge City College and Dodge City Community Junior College-it was housed on the third floor of Dodge City High School (now Comanche Middle School) at 1601 First Ave.

Ready to come to DC3? Take a look at our admissions policies and then head straight to our online application. To qualify for any degree, students must earn their last twelve hours of credit at Dodge City Community College. We welcome any high school student who qualifies under Kansas Legislature Act SB421 and has been authorized by his/her school's principal to attend college courses.
