Since 1953, our little red schoolhouse in downtown Cotati has brought families together and started the educational journey of many children. Our philosophy embraces the education of the whole child, which includes physical, emotional, intellectual and social development - four equally important overlapping elements.
As a Community School, we are also a place for parents to learn and have fun as they watch their children bloom before their eyes. The Cotati-Rohnert Park Co-op Nursery School is a private, nonprofit organization managed and maintained by its member families. Parent participation is the hallmark of our school and it is what makes this school different.

Cotati-Rohnert Park Co-op Nursery School (CRPCNS) has been educating young children for over 65 years. Established in 1953 by a group of local mothers, the nursery school is entwined with the history of Cotati and the surrounding area. The school's alumni include the children of some of Cotati's early residents: Hahn, Oretsky, Roberts, and Fishman.
Our School

The cooperative school recognizes that parents are the primary educators of their children. It encourages mothers and fathers to share their interests and talents in the classroom, on a Board of Directors, or committees. These direct parental efforts and involvement make the cooperative a unique educational opportunity.
