The Original Mowbray's Tree Service, Inc., was established in 1972 as a family-owned business. Our company is a certified 100 percent Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE). John Mowbray, our founder, moved from Maryland in 1965 to California with two employees. Mowbray's initially began as a small subcontractor to Asplundh.
Over the years, our company grew by adding more tree trimming crews. In 1972, John had taken Mowbray's to a new level and became a direct contractor to Southern California Edison (SCE). Due to organizational changes at Edison, Mowbray's once again became a subcontractor under Asplundh. As our company grew and expanded it was incorporated in 2002, but continued to operate as a subcontractor.
