Originally built and opened in the 1920's, the NYEC has recently received a complete redevelopment, marking 2012 as a huge step forward in our long history.

Riding Lessons

NYEC offers lessons for any person who wishes to learn or improve their horse back riding skills in a variety of disciplines. The lessons are taught by professionally trained, experienced and certified instructors, lessons are available to any person five years of age or older. NYEC offers private, as well as group lessons for riders of any level.
Trail Rides

Enjoy NYEC's 775 scenic acres of Hempstead Lake State Park. Groomed and manicured trails provide the most beautiful scenery along 9 miles of dedicated bridal paths. Ride around beautiful sand beaches and enjoy the leaves changing colors around the 5 beautiful lakes, ride along side rolling hills of Hempstead Private Country Club golf course.
Children's Programs

The After School Program is for children ages 7- 15. This is a great introductory program. Riders are placed into group based on the riding level. All activities are horse related including riding of various disciplines, horse care, anatomy, feeding, grooming and tacking, bathing, and equine equipment.
Pony Parties

Have your next birthday party at NYEC or at your house! From ages 2+ and for groups up to 100 people, have a unique birthday party, where every child can have their own experience horseback riding! We have experienced handlers and gentle ponies to give your children a safe and fun ride! Our second floor mezzanine overviewing the riding ring is also available for parties.
