A Greensburg-area mother and daughter have both begun their college journey at Westmoreland County Community College. Allison and Kendra Lester are each in their first semester.

Westmoreland offering Classes for Emergency Services Personnel in New Kensington and Murrysville. In an effort to extend its outreach to emergency services personnel in the county, Westmoreland County Community College is offering a variety of public safety training courses at its centers in Murrysville and New Kensington starting in mid-September.

The Keystone Education Yields Success Program is designed to help recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) with the successful completion of their course of study.Students with disabilities are encouraged to schedule an appointment so Westmoreland can better discuss classroom accomodations and any other individual learning needs.

Whether you're a graduating high school student, adult learner, career-focused or planning to transfer, Westmoreland has a program and resources to help you succeed on your ambitious journey. Westmoreland is dedicated to the success of students in higher education and in the workforce.

Upon completing the Placement Assessment and Educational Planning Session, some students may be required to take one or more preparatory courses in mathematics and/or English.These courses do not count toward graduation but strengthen the academic skills students need for success in college.
Programs

The associate of arts degree requires 60 credits, including 36-40 credit hours of general education courses. This degree is designed for students who are planning to transfer. The associate of science degree is an academic transfer degree designed for students who want to pursue a bachelor of science (BS) degree at a four-year institution.
Online Learning

Balancing college with other responsibilities is challenging. That's why we offer many programs and degrees fully or partially online. Students can achieve educational success while meeting their personal and professional obligations. Online learning provides flexibility and convenience at the same tuition rate as face-to-face classes.
