Hopmeadow Nursery School has been helping children grow since 1955. We are a fully licensed non-profit organization that admits students of any race, religion, or ethnic origin. The director and staff are qualified professionals who actively advocate family involvement in their children's preschool experience. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to take part in the operation of the school by working on various committees, as well as by helping in the classroom throughout the year.

We believe that the ability to work and play well with others is key to a child's success in life. We encourage children to make positive contributions to the group, cooperate with adults other than their parents, and develop friendly relationships with peers, while celebrating their individual strengths and gifts.

Hopmeadow Nursery School is housed in the upper level of First Church of Christ, centrally located in historic Simsbury, Connecticut. The facilities include two classrooms, one art room, and a fully enclosed playground. The property abuts Town of Simsbury open space, with a hiking trail available for use by the children and teachers.
Staff

We are proud of our excellent teaching staff. Consistent with our developmental philosophy, our staff is committed to continuing education in early childhood development; all are actively involved in curriculum planning. Our teachers bring a wide variety of life experiences to share with the children, such as music and performing arts, creative arts, and travel abroad.

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to current and former Hopmeadow families. There is a $55 non-refundable application fee.
