Raleigh Nursery School, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit child care center, licensed at a 5-Star Quality Rating by the North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education (NCDCDEE), and Accredited by the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
The child care center was founded in 1949 by the United War Mothers Chapter I; a group of strong women dedicated to helping to ensure the community would provide a safe nurturing place for children while women entered the workforce because men were fighting in war.First Director and Teacher, Rosia D. Butler, continued to lead the school for the next 37 years.

The Raleigh Nursery School program consists of a research-based educational curriculum, A-Rated Commercial Kitchen, natural outdoor learning destinations, including butterfly and vegetable gardens, highly qualified staff as well as a loving and nurturing environment that supports the development of each child.
