Welcome to Our Lady of Good Counsel High School where our mission is to inspire our students to excel, serve, and love. Since our founding in 1958, the educational vision of the Xaverian Brothers has been the source of that inspiration. The Brothers' core spiritual values of simplicity, humility, compassion, zeal, and trust form the distinctive basis of our Catholic school education.

Serving the greater Washington metropolitan area for more than 60 years, Our Lady of Good Counsel High School was founded in 1958 by the Xaverian Brothers as a Catholic high school for boys. The Xaverian Brothers, a consecrated lay Catholic order founded by Theodore James Ryken, did so at the invitation of Cardinal Patrick O'Boyle.

Our Mission: At Our Lady of Good Counsel, a Catholic high school sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers, we inspire our students to excel, serve, and love. A Good Counsel education provides young men and women the opportunity to reach beyond the merely "good" and to succeed beyond their perceived limits.

Bus Passes

Private bus service: Good Counsel offers bus service to locations in Howard, Prince George's, Frederick, and Montgomery Counties, including stops in Clarksville, Upper Marlboro, Urbana, and Silver Spring. Our buses are provided by Coughlin Transportation, a reliable, privately owned business with whom we have built a solid relationship over 30 years.
