Jow Ga Kung Fu
Report
Jow Ga Kung Fu () is a traditional Southern Chinese martial arts named after its family. Jow Lung (1891-1919) founded the style along with his brothers Jow Hip, Jow Biu, Jow Hoy, and Jow Tin. Their Kung Fu was developed from the three systems of Hung Ga, Choy Ga, and Northern Shaolin.

Jow Ga has the head of Hung and the tail of Choy (Hung Tao Choy Mei) meaning it incorporates the mighty muscular movements of Hung Ga, the swift footwork of Choy Ga, and also the kicking of Northern Shaolin. It is a very effective form of self-defense with emphasis on simultaneous attack and defense against multiple opponents.

The Lion dance is a symbol of auspiciousness to commemorate important events such as Chinese New Year, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and grand openings. The lion chases away any negative energy with the drums and cymbals allowing a fresh start. Its powerful presence scares away evil spirits and brings good luck and strength.
