As you no doubt remember from when you first learned to dive, the key to peak equipment performance is regular, professional maintenance. Having items such as regulator systems, BCs and cylinders inspected and maintained on a regular basis helps ensure long life and reliable service. Annual professional care is also a key component in maintaining the warranty on items such as regulator systems.

You can't build a solid structure without a strong foundation. And while BC use is an important skill, it is not the most critical factor in buoyancy control. Dangling consoles and alternate second stages pose a danger to you, other divers and the environment. Find out why, and what you can do to avoid this peril.
Regulator Maintenance
Report
From time to time we have people bring us equipment for service whom it appears do not understand some important facts about regulator maintenance. These people tell us that they just want to have us "check their regulator out, " and that their regulator has only been used "a couple of times" since it was last serviced.
The Buoyancy Control Pyramid
Report
At its peak is breath control - a diver's ability to make minute buoyancy adjustments by inhaling and exhaling more or less deeply. The next level in the pyramid is BC adjustment - the ability to compensate for exposure suit compression and expansion by adding to or removing air from the BC. The foundation of the pyramid is proper weighting - using only that weight which is necessary and no more.
