The motorcycle business in the Santa Clarita Valley started in 1968 when Dick Allen opened a Yamaha dealership next to the railroad tracks. The Santa Clarita Valley (Newhall, Saugus, and Canyon Country) was a wide open riding area with trails in the surrounding mountains, canyon roads, and the gateway to the Mojave Desert.
