Welcome, and thank you for your interest in the Musicians Association of Albuquerque, Local 618 of The American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada. The AFM is the largest organization in the world dedicated to representing the interests of professional musicians. Local 618 represents many of the finest professional musicians in New Mexico.
With such active members as Bruce Springsteen, Roberta Flack, Santana, Yo-Yo Ma, Sheila E, Suzanne Vega, The Goo Goo Dolls, Willie Nelson, and Branford Marsalis, there is a strong representation of major recording individuals and groups. The AFM has been promoting and protecting professional musicians for over 110 years.

Local 618 assists potential live music purchasers in the New Mexico area to find the right artist or group for their party, wedding, festival, corporate function or any other event that requires live music. In addition, the AFM provides an international on-line referral service (free of charge to all members and potential purchasers) that is quickly becoming one of the largest Internet resources of its kind.

You'll see us performing at all of the New Mexico Philharmonic, Santa Fe Symphony and Santa Fe Opera concerts, playing jazz at the Hotel Andaluz, bringing audiences to their feet the Albuquerque Museum Amphitheater, the Hispanic Cultural Center and the Outpost Performance Space, and many local area hotels, restaurants and nightclubs.Our musical community is vibrant, with an active working membership.
