We are locally owned and operated. Our stock is vast and ever-growing. Sales and special events are going on all the time, and you can get a feeling for what is coming on the events page. We do not buy books! A glance in our store will show you that we are in need of storage space more than adding to our collection. We do take trade-ins for credit, and we essentially keep our records forever, so your credit will still be good. The truth is that even significant collections of ordinary books distort space.

We participate in a variety of events each year. For example this was the fifth year of our Bushwackers Bookstore Tour, held in conjunction with our friends in local bookstores in the greater Kansas City area. Fort Osage is a reconstructed replica of the first American outpost in the Lousiana Territory.
